Hello -

I decided to do something about the headstock on the PRS Silver Sky - a more traditional approach. I took very detailed measurements and modeled the neck in Fusion 360. Made a few prototypes and finally have this. Couldn`t be happier. I need to cut a new bone nut, which I plan to do this week.

Here are the details -

Shaft Wood - Flamed maple from Wisconsin.
Fretboard - Granadillo.
Fret Markers - Mother of pearl.
Side Markers - Brass
Radius - 9.5"
Profile - Elliptical.
Frets - 6105 Stainless
Tuners - Gotoh Vintage.
Finish - Tru Oil.

Welcome to the forum.

So the headstock fix is a new neck? Did I read that wrong? Either way, be prepared to be bombarded by the fanboys LOL.

Looks great to me though. I think the SS headstock is terrible, to say the least.

Yes, it’s a new neck. I can’t wait to see what the fanboys say :-)

I think it looks marvelous. Any tonal diff

PRS Fanboy hasn't posted in a very long time, he may still be in school.
The body and the neck resonate really well. Couldn`t be happier. For an actual opinion about the tonal differences - I need to make a new bone nut first. I`m having some blanks delivered this week.

Why did you buy it in the first place? Curious...
Well - do you remember the time when Silver Sky SE was released? There was a lot of excitement surrounding it. There were swanky ads, social influencers doing reviews. But, there were limited supply of guitars to be had. I wanted to see what this was all about. I ordered one, but was disappointed with the fit and finish of the neck. I had to send it back to PRS, and they acknowledged that the guitar was out of spec and they sent me a really nice one - set up in the US. The guitar itself is great, nice pickups, and the neck profile is super nice. But the headstock issue...
