Hi, I can’t seem to figure out how to decode the serial number on the back of my 10 top. I’m wondering what year it’s from. Does anyone have some tips?

Depending on how old it is, the first digit or two reflect the year, then the actual serial number.
For example: 09 156989 is my Dirty 100. 09 was when it was made, 156989 is the serial.
8 36383 is my hollow body, made in 98 - for a long while they just used the last digit of the year. The serial number range says it’s a 98 rather than an 88, and they didn’t have a hollow body in 1988.

Hello,
I am wanting to identify the specs on my PRS Custom 24 Piezo. I know based on the serial number that it was a 2023 model, but is there a way to identify the color and specs by the serial number? It is 23 0371125. I bought it as the color Sapphire Smokeburst, but it looks alot more like the Cobalt Smokeburst and wanted to see which one it actually is? Thank you for your help!

^ PRS uses a modcat to pretty much breakdown the profile including color of your guitar. It’s usually located under the treble/aft pickup on a white strip of paper and also on the end of the hardshell case. Might even be in the case pocket/bag where they show pickups, year ,etc. if you find it there are resources to decipher what you’re looking at. I believe it’s one of the first posts here under the electric instrument tab. Hope this helps Chadom.

PRS uses sequential serial numbers across all models. As @Birdsofprey suggested, the modcat sticker is a good place to start. You can also email PRS Customer Service. They are good at responding to these types of requests.
