Anybody out there have one of these? I bought one about three months ago and am in love with it.

To be fair I've played very little guitar in the past and this is the first guitar I've bought in my life. I fiddled with a guitar in my early teens (30 years ago). My brother bought me an Alvarez Acoustic about 5 years ago and I just started playing it about a year ago. I started loosing interest in it and though it might be the limitations of an acoustic.

I new I wanted an electric but spent about another year trying to find that perfect guitar that looks bad ass, sounds amazing and something affordable, in case it wasn't the Acoustic I was loosing interest in. I played everything from Squire to Strats, Epiphone to Les Paul and nothing lite my fire. I picked up PRS SE and it just felt awesome. So I looked around a bit and found a Cherry Sunburst Quilted Top Tremonti Custom, used but in like new shape, for $400.00. Couldn't pass it up. I'd post a pic but can't figure out how to.....

So what's your Tremonti Story?

I'll admit, I'm sort of a core model snob. I started with a CU22 with Dragon IIs and never liked the early SEs. Just didn't feel like PRS to me. Earlier this year I was at a music store with a friend and saw the new Tremonti SE customs. I played one, wasn't blown away, but surprised about the increase in quality. The next one I picked up blew me away. The cleans were crisp and the distortion was just meaty. I had to have it. Since then I've put US Tremonti pups in, schaller tuners, tusq nut and changed out the pots. I didn't have to do all that, but it is now one of my go to guitars for hard rock/metal.

I just bought one the other night - a 2002 model. So far I'm really enjoying it. I've put it into rotation with my other guitars so I will only play it every few days so none of them feel neglected.

I like mine just fine, my only reason for not playing it more is the weight. It wears on my neck after an hour or so. So then i switch to my Vela.
