Purchased a korea model and enjoy it very much. I was wondering what people think of the pck ups. I'm a new guitarist so really don't know how it compares.

Started with a squire. So this santana a noticable difference in sound and range. Fits my hands better, easier reach going between a couple frets. Thought it was my imagination, did some precise measuring, the reach between frets is less distance on the prs. So it is easier to plsy back and forth between 3 frets. I guess if you have smaller hands these guitars help. I'm totally sold on prs.

I don't use sites to hold pictures. Thanks for the info. Most of the forums now use the system that take you to your own pictures on your device.

Funny thing, I've been working on "Sampa Pa Ti" for a couple months. Went from 40 percent tempo to 60 percent with the Santana PRS......lol....i must have got inspired somehow. When you get this SE, on that bridge pick up, with some gain and reverb, the sound just makes my hair stand up. Played a B. B. king song last night, "The thrill is Gone" Yikes....need to work on it, but even making mistakes, it just sounded great. Need to work on the movable chords. My basic notes are ok, but this movable chord thing is hell on earth. Then those very fast transitions, still getting my fingers tangled up. This the hardest thing i ever tried to learn....loving it. The feeling of satifaction over the top, once you get the songs down. I'm trying to keep the hard to play stuff in front of me. Pushing that outer envelope i have found the only way you get better. If it's easy....i ain't benefiting.

Yep the Santana has a 24.5 scale length compared to a Strat or Tele which have a scale length of 25.5. That makes a big difference in the distance between frets - especially up past the 12th fret. it's also makes the strings feel lighter and "slinkier" as there is less tension on them when tuned up to standard pitch. PRS Custom 22 and 24's are right in the middle at 25". A Les Paul is just under 25" at 24.75. (I think)

I picked up an SE Santana last year, my first PRS. Love mine.

I've been playing a long time and have had many guitars over the years. The SE Santana is one of my favorites of them all. You picked a good model as your first PRS!

Although, I am looking at replacing the pickups in mine, it is only because I am looking for a certain sound/feel out of my pickups. I am familiar enough with various pickups to know where I want to go, and what I want out of my guitars. The stock pickups are far from awful! They're actually quite nice. Just not exactly what I, personally, am looking for. I agree with a few others who have said, don't worry about swapping pickups yet. Get to know the guitar, and your playing, and see how it goes for a while!
