PRS SE pots and pick up help needed!

Hello!

I have a first year PRE Santana SE with a PRS #7 bridge pup and stock pup in the neck. The pots have gotten scratchy and I need to replace them but don't now which type would be best for quality and fit. I want to also put a quality cap in there as well took it out and lost it so I am not sure what number cap to use.

Lastly I want to change the neck pup to something with more character like a P90 or something. Any suggestions?

Both pots have gotten scratchy? Not sure what your experience level is with wiring, but have you considered a USA PRS drop in wiring harness?

If you're more advanced and can wire up from scratch, I like CTS pots, you'll need a 500K audio taper. You have Alphas in there now. IIRC you'll need to enlarge the hole slightly to accommodate CTS or PRS pots.

As for a neck pickup, I'm a giant fan of Fralin P-92s in the neck position. Fat single coil tone, clear as can be, cleans up what was a muddy humbucker every time, but with balls and character and no hum.

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you tried contact cleaner on the pots yet?

I unwired everything to find where the scratchiness was coming from and tossed the figuring I would just upgrade everything.
