How did I miss this?!!???
Not a dealer, just saw them on Reverb!
I’m looking forward to getting one of these as well....
I saw these on Facebook (linked to the reverb pre order page). Didn’t think to come here first. I’m interested for sure. Really kind of hope for some more color options. If not the red is pretty cool. Will want to play one in person. Also interested in the “carved top”. The other SE’s say beveled top. Anyway exciting times for sure. And by the Facebook page response, this could be very popular. Hopefully popular enough for a SE 509. At least one can hope.
I’m sure it’s a bevelled top, that was probably an oversight.
Had an idea to get this to a luthier, put a bare knuckle 63 Strat pickup in between the 2!!
Idk, those pictures sure look like it may be a carved top.
That’s what I’m thinking. Maybe not full on violin carve. But more than the bevel currently used. Maybe like the new CE’s. Although I’ve not seen those in person.
I had a similar idea. But it involved me and a router and a template. It’s the 5 way switch that I’m not sure about. But I don’t often use the tone control. So that could go and I could get a rotary 5-way. Could also use a dual concentric pot and still have both controls. Yeah. That might have to happen.
They need to get a demo sound clip video up. I'd be interested in seeing/hearing the tone potential on these.
On the other hand, there are people who love the outdated sport of baseball and attend the World Series.
I had Kluson style tuners on my first several McCartys. The guitars were great. If the tuners are part of the package on a great guitar, I’m in.
On the other hand, I’m a USA PRS purchaser, so my opinion matters not at all!
I know nothing of that mentality
Wow! Cool to see an SE version of this.
Full humbucker-sized TCI pickups? I smell a burgeoning secondhand market for core model owners looking to get that true single-coil sound.
Awww yeah! I smell a new episode of"Sergios Design on a Dimebag" cookin.. up in herrrr! Send it!
What's TCI ?
It stands for Tuned Capacitance and Inductance - and TCI Pick-ups are in the core 'Pauls' guitar.
Essentially, you get 'proper' Single coils and no loss in volume when splitting the humbuckers.
Damn. Going to have to work a lot of hours.
I smell GAS!
Sorry. Don’t mean to be sarcastic- well not towards you anyway. It’s just that your question brought back old memories. Others of a similar age as myself, who grew up in nyc, might laugh
