PRS SE Orianthi

I’ve been campaigning for the 513 without luck. My guess would be that, once it’s in the past, there would need to be a big demand before a return is even considered. My most reliable source says:

I'm trying to think of any model that PRS has resurrected after being OOP for years, and I'm coming up blank - even the Mira/Starla shift from core to S2 to SE is not quite all that, there was only a year or two gap, IIRC. I guess the CE, even though the new CEs are different enough from the original.

They might release a new Artist Sig model for Orianthi, but it would likely be different due to her tastes/styles changing or "just because".

The 509 is the designated successor, so I suspect you are beyond all hope for a 513 revisit. Unless they stop production on the 509 for a few years, maybe...

No, you’re right. I’ve discussed it with them directly and they said as much. The 509 is similar, but I don’t think it sounds the same. Fortunate for me that a lot of 513s were made, so I will likely have a pool to draw from for my lifetime. I really do believe the 513 to be a benchmark design that is much easier to switch on the fly live than anything with mini-toggles. If it’s not coming back, I hold little hope for any specialty/signature to come back as is/was.

They brought back the CU22 Soapbar, at least for some limited runs, a few years after the initial batch had been stopped.

Even the ones they do bring back aren't exactly as the originals. McCarty's were for ever Moons, with no Birds, now... well you know. The lampshades are different than the speed knobs. The pickups are completely different. So they do bring one back occasionally but with modern turns on them.
