I posted this initially in the general discussion section but I think that was an error on may part.

I'm looking for some assistance please.

I just picked up a used PRS SE Custom 24. It's a beautiful guitar with a wonderful tobacco burst finish. The only problem is that it's missing the grub screw that holds the trem arm in place.

I though it would be easy to find this answer online but I can't so far. PRS UK support have been contacted but haven't replied so far.

Does anyone know the PRS SE grub screw size?

Thanks

[h=2]From https://www.prsguitars.com/csc/faq.html :

8. What are the sizes of my guitar’s adjustment wrenches?
[/h] US-made Models:
Tremolo Arm Screw & Tremolo Saddle Screws = .050” hex wrench
Stoptail Bridge Screws = 1/16” hex wrench

SE Models:
Tremolo Arm, Saddles, & Stoptail Bridge Screws = 1.5mm hex wrench

Thanks for that. It looks like a 1.5mm hex wrench is used for an M3 grub screw.

Problem is there are different shapes of M3 grub screw :)

I wonder if someone would have one that they could put a photo of here?

It's an SE Custom 24 stock trem bridge.

The grub screw is at the back as seen here

I think I know the size now. It's just the shape/type I need to determine.

My fault, Scotty. You said you needed to know the fastener size. I misread that as the allen wrench size for the screw. Sorry, I don't have the answer.

No problem. I think you have indeed helped out. The 1.5mm hex wrench is used with an M3 grub screw, so now I think I know the diameter of the screw.

I'm going to order an assorted lot of grub screws from amazon. They include M3's and others, so one is bound to fit.

When I find the exact size and shape I'll report back :)

Update.

PRS UK contacted me and are going to send the part out - free of charge.

Nice gesture on their part.

Took one out of my PRS SE Cu22 (2017). It's a M3x8mm grub screw, as far as I can tell. I've put in a M3x12 screw for testing. It didn't need any force to make it fit as good as the grub screw so I'm assuming it's M3x8 (differences in thread pitch should have required some force). If you happen to know anyone with a 3d printer there's a good change he might have a variety of grub screws left. Those tiny M3 grub screws often get used to mount thermistors/heaters to the hotend. If in need for a quick fix: I remember some IKEA curtain holders using M3 grub screws. xD

But great to hear you got one completely free of charge!

Edit:

Grub screw from a SE Cu22 (2017) vs. M3x12. Measured the same in diameter using calipers.

If have no idea how and why I did this act of thread necromany...holy.... xD

I picked up the 35th Anniversary SE Custom at an auction, and I have the same problem,
the grub screw is missing.

So I contacted PRS support and that's the answer:
"The tremolo set screw size is M3 X 8mm X 1.5mm" (1.5mm is the diameter of the hex key).
