Does anyone have any sort of photos of the custom 24 SE? I see on the website the pictures do not show if the top is beveled or has any sort of slant on it.
I've seen pictures (stock from PRS) and other pictures (stock from prs/ebay/craigslist) that show some have a beveled top and some are completely FLAT.

Here is the 3 examples and i just want clarification on what i'm purchasing.

http://imgur.com/a/44DNd
(first black/grey shows body contour)
(second shows body contour / rounded edge/bevel)
(third shows "FLAT" surface and no bevel/rounded)

Can someone clarify since i don't want to purchase the "FLAT style" and want a beveled / contoured body

thanks

If it has a blade switch it's contoured.

Thanks for the quick reply, does anyone have pictures of the SE 24 2012/2013 with blade switch. I've seen some that appear to be flat.... i would love some owners to post up some pix. I searched the "show your SE thread" and it seems to be something thats hard to distinguish. I'll take your advice and place my order tonight... Musicians Friend appears to have the best price with gig bad (not sure why some are listed without it)

Check out the guitar gallery on Sweetwater. They have several. Nice thing about them is that they post pictures of the actual guitar you would be buying.

Wow, Sweetwater has such a nice gallery of photos. Why didn't i go there????? i've been browsing musiciansfriend, GC, music123, prsguitars.com etc.

PRS should really hire sweetwaters photographer to take photos for their site... these photos are a much better representation of the finished product...

Thanks guys, taking the plunge tomorrow after work wish me luck. Whale Blue or Grey Black is the decision

Here's a flat top one, just for comparison with the bevelled top ones posted above. you can see the top's side edge (from the light reflection) is flat and has a more angular, edgey feel/look to it.

edit: here's one more, i found it in my phone but it's not exactly a new photo.

you can also see the wall was reflected squarely on the surface.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I noticed that sweetwaters (whale blue) does not have a white binding but musiciansfriend does.

What is with all these inconsistencies between stores? PRS only shows a single SE custom 24. no options besides color.

What i've found are:
Body types (switch blade with carved top and contoured body) 2012 and 2013
Push pull tone (some depending upon year mfg)
Binding on some NOT all 2012
Grey/Black is specific to GuitarCenter and Affiliates (musiciansfriend.com, guitarcenter.com, music123.com)

Again, Thanks for all of the help!

I originally wanted a whale blue one but my understanding is they have discontinued the color (here in the UK), the blue one is now Royal Blue with no binding and black pups, I bought this one and I must say I am well pleased with it, it shows the maple better than the Wale Blue for sure.

I wish someone had a grey/black to show pix of 2013, the royal blue is stunning!!!!! great pix. It really does show the maple much better.. thanks for posting

What year is this and WHERE did you get that purple color... its gorgeous

Cheers Dysmantle, it's a beauty for sure! It's a 2012 model but unfortunately the Purple Burst is a limited edition finish for the UK. The Royal Blue looks nice in the pics above but it's a shame the binding is no longer present.

This shows off the burst and curves on my SE a bit better:

This one should have everything you're looking for:

The Grey/Black one looks ultra cool too!

i've noticed they are different blue colours. All Whale Blue PRS SEs i've found on the internet have bindings. It's actually natural binding which PRS is famous for, not the stark white binding like on the SE Tremonti Stoptail. The Royal Blue ones (including the SE Singlecut Trem and SE Zach Myers) has no bindings, not sure why. Same goes with Scarlet Red ones (again the SE Singlecut Trem, SE Orianthi, SE 245, 25th Annv. SE Custom 24). All Black Cherry ones, which are closest to Scarlet Red, has bindings.

Though weirdly, the 2011 SE Singlecut Stoptail in Scarlet Red has binding.

It could be that they listed the wrong colour on their site.

edit: i just saw the whale blue one in sweetwater, it has a binding actually.
