Hello!

I recently played an SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow which I think is a 2022 model: https://prsguitars.com/electrics/model/se_custom_22_semi_hollow_2022

It played and felt quite different from another (more recent?) quilt-top model: https://www.guitarcenter.com/PRS/SE...tric-Guitar-Faded-Blue-Burst-1500000371690.gc

The only thing I could find different between the specs is that the former has a bevel carve, while the latter has a shallow violin carve. The previous owner of the 2022 model may have made some minor modifications (e.g. string gauge and action), but no changes to the body.

Is there any other difference between these two models? And would you recommend one over the other?

Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I don’t think the SE Custom 22 semi-hollow was offered with the shallow violin carve earlier than 2023, and I don’t recall a limited run that year.

Check my current avatar. I bought that SE semi hollow from Sergio. I modified the hell out of it. The SE Semi is a very good platform for modification. Play the two guitars and see if one is more comfortable neck wise. Buy that one. Don’t worry about the specs.

Great advice. Thanks!

Does the carve make any difference in the weight distribution or body feel? Or is it purely aesthetic?
