Newbie here. After listening to bunch of youtube vids I find that I prefer the se 245 tone over the santana and cu24. I found a used se 245 with dimarzios in it. How do they compare to the stock pickups? I can't find any direct comparison online. Thanks.

Can't help you here - but maybe the seller still has the original pickups?

Dimarzio makes decent pickups, but in all honesty the SE245's are also really nice. I had an Air Norton in the bridge of one of my guitars and it was good, but in the neck position on an LP style axe, I would be afraid of it being too bassy.

I'd much rather have that set than the stock pickups. Dimarzio makes good stuff, and if you dont like the particular model there they'll be worth more money in a swap than the SE pickups. Dimarzio has sound samples of all their pickups on their website that will give you an idea what they sound like
