PRS SC245 2009 year

What are your thoughts about this guitar as a good introduction instrument ? PRS company is all new to me and I have an opportunity to buy this guitar from a reputable dealer here in Canada

I have a 2000 SC and the 245 is a natural progression. Does it have 57/08 pickups?
Whether it does or not, grab it!

I like the Wide/Fat neck, weight & comfort, and it’s worked well with many different amps over the years.

I have a pair of 245 pickups in my ‘22 Santana SE.. love their tone!

What I like about mine (a 2013 SC245) is the short scale length makes it comfortable to play as well as the 57/08 pickups it came with. I also think it looks cool.

This is my 2009 SC 245 Gold Top. The bird tag says that it has PRS 245 pickups (whatever that means), and they sound bloody wonderful in this guitar. I've used this guitar for jazz (standards, comping & vocal accompaniment) to classic rock (GnR, Zepp) and it's never let me down. I love it.

PS - If you're looking at the guitar I think you're looking at, I have to tell you that I own several PRSs sourced from The Guitar Shop, including my McCarty, my 594 HBII, my Hollowbody II SC, my Silver Sky and my Vela. You can NOT go wrong dealing with these guys; they are absolutely fantastic.
