Hi all…. Well, recently I picked up a Santana SE which I upgraded with a Mann bridge and 245 usa pickups. I just love this guitar… Which got me thinking (my worst enemy)..:pabout buying a core Santana… The question I have is that I notice on all the USA Santana guitars, the bridge pickup is right next to the bridge.. on my SE it’s located pretty much where my bridge pickups are on my DGT and CU22….
Because it’s so close to the bridge, does the treble pickup have tons of high end located that close to the bridge, or is it full and fat sounding like on my other PRS’s?
thanks for any advise……

I'd say it would be more full/fat sounding. As a matter of fact, I had a 2015 Artist Package Santana (Maple neck, ebony board) at the same time I had a '58 RI. I was shocked how LP sounding that Santana was. It was full of bark and bite.

Thanks @bodia . That’s very encouraging. That’s similar to my experience with my SE with the changed bridge and pickups, although it’s certainly not in the same tone league as a US version…
Definitely in the LP direction of sound compared to my DGT and CU22. Those 3 guitars sound very different, which is a great thing…
the Custom 22 with the wrap tailpiece and Dragon 1’s is an angry rock n roll dog.
the DGT is in between a Fender and a Gibson but so much more in many ways…
