I have a PRS SE Custom 24 that I dearly love to play. But, I have noticed that it has a bit of the Fender Strat "Quack" to it. Not sure why. Don't know if it is the way I have my amp set or what. Has anyone else noticed this? And, any ideas how to get rid of this? I have a really nice Strat that I love to play but, I want my PRS "NOT" to sound like a Strat. Help

Here is my amp settings.
Volume 5
Treble 6
Mids 4

MXR Delay Pedal
Tumnus Deluxe Pedal
Boss Compression Pedal settings Level 3 o'clock ( 7 )
Tone 3 o'clock (7)
Attack 9 o'clock (3)
Sustain 9 o'clock ( 3 )

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated thanks so much.

What switch setting on the guitar are you using; the middle with both pickups on?

Up or Down? Or just to find the sweet spot?

Yeah, I probably should've said adjusting the pickup height is one of the quickest ways to alter the electronic tonal response of the guitar.

I've never had a problem with a pickup being too quacky, so I couldn't tell you which direction to go. I'd recommend making small adjustments in both directions to see where you end up.

Good luck!

Don't just look at the electronic aspect of things, other factors can play into tonal maladies. Look at the whole chain.

How old are the frets? Sometimes when they're worn down they give off a little bit of a buzzquack kinda thang.

............. and yea, I made that word up.

This PRS is 1 year old. But, I think your right. I'm just gonna have to play with things to get what I want. I'll start without pedals and go from there.
