Hi, new guy here.

I have a set of uncovered prs usa pickups. They have a 2006 rolhs sticker but are still round bobbins. They read 8.7 bridge and 8.3 neck.

Here is the weird part, they are only 2 conductor. 1 black wire with shielding. I cant find any pickups that are like this. Any ideas?

I can't say which pickups that are. As to the 2 conductor question, my guess is they came out of a Singlecut without any coil split/tap. They would just have hot & ground.

Thanks for your reply. So, there are US PRS Guitars without a coil split. I wasn't able to find a model that didn't have at least a coil tap. So maybe a SC245 or 250 is your guess?

That's the other thing that makes it tough, no cover. And no evidence there ever was one (solder on baseplate) They have the gold baseplate with the embossed PRS USA logo, uncovered, and the round bobbins. They show zero evidence of ever being taken apart. I though maybe someone snipped the white wire off but the hole is so small it couldn't be completely removed with taking off the baseplate.

I've got them in a guitar now, a Cort MGM (Matt Guitar Murphy) blasphemy I know but they sound great. They remind me of the Pickups from a core Mira, minus the coil split.

The 2011 57/08 pups on the Stripped 58 are also 2 conductor

Based on this it’s entirely possible that they could be Artist pickups

Artist is my guess as well.

Thank you all for your help. I got them for a decent price so I really couldn't lose unless they were broken. They sound great, surprisingly thick on the bridge and the neck has a lot of character. My Cort MGM is very PRS "like" so having a set of PRS pickups in it feels right.

Yes… my 2 conductor 245’s which I installed in my SE Santana came out of a SC245…
They measure 10K bridge and 8.5K neck…
