Guys n gals, quick question. How do the PRS pickups relate to other manufacturers (for example Seymour Duncan) in terms of polarity?

I am going to swap the 57/08 neck out of my CU24 for a wolfetone legends, but before he winds it, I would like to make certain the in between sounds are still OK.

My experience with PRS and mixing pickups ain’t fun. At least with fralins, tv Jones, and bare knuckles having to reverse their polarity to stay in phase with a PRS pickup. I assume if it’s going in a 5 way that it has multiple leads? A pickup with 4-5 wire configuration will be your best bet to avoid issues.

It's really not that big of a deal. One of the guys on here made a great suggestion.

Use wire leads with alligator clips to connect pickup THEN try it. I believe you'd have two options and somebody can jump in if I'm wrong.

Switch the hot and ground wires or flip magnet.

Ok, thanks! It is a covered PU and flipping the magnet is no fun. I asked for a 4 lead PU, so that should help. The CU24 an oldie (09) and has the toghle switch (thank goodness), but splits with the tone knob.

If your prs has toggle then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Polarity on a prs pickup would only be reversed if you had rotary switching.
