PRS ONLY? What else do you play?

Nice guitars from German luthiers: Nik Huber and Frank Hartung. Patriotism :D

I named and depicted them already in the Family Photos thread, but anyways.

From left to right:

1995 Ibanez RG 570 CTAM (second hand, 2012)
1995 Duesenberg/Rockinger Rudvog (new, 1995)
2011 PRS 513 MT (new, 2011, modified in 2014)
2013 Linus Custom Thinline (new, 2013; custom made/master build by an Austrian luthier)
1995 Parker Fly Deluxe (second hand, 2000)
Max Mauluff Dentaster (second hand Legend Strat copy, modified by a dentist, who does DIY guitar making or modifying from time to time, his brand name is Max Mauluff, to a Deluxe Lone Star Strat RW in 2012)

My 513 is descripted well in this forum (513s thread, Modified Monday thread...), therefore I won´t lose a word about her.
Parker and Ibanez are (apart from the bridge pickup of the RG, V8 was wrecked, Seymour Duncan Custom Trembucker was installed) original standard models from the shelf, the Strat copy is nothing special aswell.

But I will highlight two other guitars, which are unique.

Let´s start with the Duesenberg/Rockinger Rudvog. 1993 the Rudvog was announced as a new guitar series. But they only produced five guitars, four with mahogany body, one with swamp ash. They sold all four made of mahogany whilst the swamp ash body and all parts remained in the shelf of the workshop.
In 1995 I was about spending money for a new guitar. I read an review about the Rudvog. Yeah! Want that!
Called up Rockinger: We only got the parts. You have to do DIY. No problem, got a skilled friend. He managed it. In 2005 I took it to a luthier in Munich for electrical service and he did some corrections of the neck angle. End of 2009 he put in an EMG 89 at bridge and a SA on neck position.

The Rudvog looks like it was shat out of a Russian tank. Sweet pickup selector location, and even better cigarette holder...urp????...

Oh, no! I´m a non-smoker, indeed. The Rudvog looked too virgin, so I came up with decision putting on some mojo. I burnt the headstock with a flammable gas burner witch make her appear to have a smoker as her owner and player.

In addition to 3 PRS guitars (soon to be 4) , I have a Strat (which I play a lot), a Taylor T5 hybrid (which I like one day and dislike the next day), and a Taylor GS mini acoustic guitar (great value for the $). Thinking about either a Tele or PRS 513 down the road....

I have a Taylor GS-8 acoustic which have that lush acoustic tone like no others!

And last one, my most recently acquired guitar. The Thailand Handmade "Vanilla Acoustics Guitar" all solid, with Cocobolo back&side and German Spruce top with curly Koa binding all around. Truly piece of art and great sounding guitar. At around $1600 this truly is a real bang for the buck! Everything is custom ordered, just like PRS private stock.

Besides my PRS 408 and three (one ZM on the way too) SE guitars, I have a small Fernandes with a built in amp and speaker, and a 2012 Gibson '61 Reissue SG.
Old pic from June of 2012 before I found out about PRS.

Hello Corey, I know you, although you don't know me. Gibson forum! We have something in common. I used to play bass in my teens, then stopped playing for a long time. Started much later (as a young adult) with a Mugen acoustic, which was stolen by a music shop, then a Yamaha acoustic, then my first electric, a Korean Hamer which I have heavily-modified, followed by another Yamaha acoustic. Then came the PRS USA Singlecut McCarty Satin P90, which is by far the best guitar I have, then a Les Paul Standard '59 reissue which I'm struggling to get decent tone out of, and then my latest acquisition, a 2003 PRS SE Soapbar! Next will be a divorce!

That's cool. I've never seen a guitar like the Rude Dog. It's exceptional!

Knaggs Severn

Heritage H-157
Reverend PA
