My email today included a link to PRS on Maryland Public TV, and it was a very cool show. Nicely done! I enjoyed the whole darn thing.

The email also included a link to the new 20th Private Stock Anniversary Model, which is so droolworthy that an order was placed the day after it was announced, but that's another story. ;)

Episode number 408. Ohhhh....cool coincidence, or something more sinister?

Not a coincidence, but not really sinister. It was supposed to be on a few episodes ago, but PRS paid for the piece to be on episode 408 so they wouldn't have to send out all those replacement truss rod covers.

Is it just me? Does anyone else get the impression that Paul is always really uncomfortable and a bit "dorky" in these interviews.
Particularly after the segment on Graham Nash who is incredibly sophisticated and likeable.

No disrespect to Paul, but he could really use some coaching.

Well, think of the thousands of interviews with the media that a rock star like Graham Nash has done for the last 50 years, ever since the Hollies. He's been a stage presence for all that time, adored by millions

Paul is a more studious guy who designs and makes guitars. That's who he is. I think people need to be who they are.

Having met Paul and chatted with him, he's definitely a super-nice guy.

I don't know, he just seems like Paul to me? I don't get the uncomfortable thing watching him. I think he's geeky(I use that term loosely) because he's into guitars and loves what he does. Maybe I'm just used to him after watching him for the last 20 years. I think he's likeable because he's real. Doesn't come off as rehearsed.

Anyone notice the two output jacks on the proto dragon? Anyone have an idea what's going on there?

Very cool. I originally didn't open the link because I thought that it was of an older one that I've already seen. Thanks Les...

My intent wasn't to bash Paul.
He is obviously very successful, followed his calling and makes the best guitars available on the market today.
All I know of Paul is from video(s) and interviews. I don't find him "unlikeable" at all.
I guess it boils down to the fact that some (very few) people have "charisma".
I only wish that he would "present" to the public in a way that reflects his intelligence, passion and success in a more accessible manner.

I don't actually disagree with you that certain personalities come off as more genial in interviews, and are very easy to have a conversation with.

My only question is whether coaching folks who aren't naturally that way makes them more like...politicians with scripts? It always seems transparent to me when certain folks are coached.

So I just tend to not want to see that. On the other hand, some people are very coachable, and seem to have a natural talent for learning the ropes of public speaking. So you may be right!

Thing is, I would hate to see Paul turn into one of those phony types. Just my two cents.

I turn into a complete dork every time I talk about guitars with anyone. ¯\(°_o)/¯
