Hello! I've been a lurker here for a while and finally registered. I am close to joining the PRS owner camp.
I've found a McCarty (a new 2020 at a somewhat local shop) that is a beauty. I am somewhat confused about it. It has locking tuners, the fully adjustable wrap/stoptail, and the 58/15MT pickups (etched on the covers). I've looked at numerous 2020 McCarty examples online and see vintage-style tuners, the wrap/tail with the brass inserts, and 58/15LT pups. This shop has the guitar listed on their site stating 58/15LT pickups. While demoing the guitar I asked about both the pups and the different bridge. The clerk didn't have any answers. My assumption is that this guitar was simply spec'd this way by the dealer, or it's an early-'20 before the std. specs were updated by PRS...?
Any thoughts on the "different" specs? I'm not going to play guitar this week, and then head back to the shop with a few days away from my usual neck/s. Maybe that will resets my opinion about the Pattern. I'm also going to try the Pattern Vintage and Pattern Regular carves they've got just for reference. Again, everything else on the guitar was buy-it worthy.
