Hello
My PRS MT15H amplifier no longer turns on, what can I do ? I've contacted the store where I bought it, I'm emailing them
I opened the fuse housing, I found 2 fuses there, I reversed them (I think there is the amp fuse and a backup) but the amp still does not turn on

Some people just want a tool that works 100% of the time without any hassle.

These people should not be buying tube amps.
Seriously WTF ?
I've owned a Sovtek mig 50 and a dual rectifier for 25/15 years and I never ever had an issue with them, so yeah I expect amps to work fully all the time, and i'm allowed to buy a tube amp, seriously what's your problem ? avoid replying if you just are condescending

I wouldn't take it so personally. You didn't give enough info for us to know if you've ever had one and anyone who has... well normally would do basic troubleshooting before returning it. I think he was actually defending you, not knowing you had tube amps before, to say that you just wanted something that worked.

Honestly, the only tube amps I ever bought that didn't work perfectly out of the box, WERE new. Lose tube once, bad fuse once.

Yeah, let's take the temp down here. We're not PRS support, just a bunch of fans hanging out and engaging in friendly banter. @Black Plaid and @DreamTheaterRules are good people who know their stuff. Sometimes we don't remember that new folks may not get the vibe immediately.

Yeah, i just wouldn’t want someone to blow off a great amp over something silly.

No problem... I’m also one of those who expects a new amp to work right without repair, at least for a while! My experience with tube amps goes back to the 70s, and I have actually had better luck with them than their solid state counterparts of the era!

Unfortunately for me, something always seems to need looking into when I get an amp. Even a recent PRS hand-wired amp I received had a wiring issue that the factory guys missed. It happens with even the best of the best. It was a quick fix, and the amp sounds glorious now. Glad I was able to make the repair.

Of course, not everyone’s into that, and taking it back to the dealer for repair or replacement is a perfectly acceptable option there. I hope you get a chance to try some other PRS amps; the ones I have sound splendid!

You returned the amp without looking at the fuses.

I figured you didn't have any time for BS.

Tube amps are famous for being full of BS.

there was 2 fuses, I tested the amp with 1 fuse and then the other, i didn't check them with a multimeter. anyway who cares the amp is gone

That's the point though... you swapped fuses, but didn't "check" the fuses, and shipped the amp back. Look man, nobody here is busting on you. That doesn't seem like a normal response from someone who is familiar with tube amps, and if you've owned one for years, the response shouldn't surprise you.

If you've owned a tube amp for years, what would your response to someone who on their first post says "my amp doesn't work," second post after being asked if you CHECKED the fuses, you replied "I swapped the fuses but that didn't work" and third post "no I didn't check them but I returned the amp anyway."

That "sounds" like someone new to tubes, to me. I don't go as far as buying an amp without a lot of forethought into what it sounds like and what tones I want/need and without a lot of feedback on these things. To buy a tube amp, and ship it back without checking fuses and tubes, "seems" like something a newer player or new to tube amps player might do. This is not an insult though. If you've played tube amps for years, you know that.

Plus, you didn't say "I returned it and they are shipping me a new one" or anything, just that you returned it. Did you give up on trying an MT15? Didn't give us much to work with... If you have another one on the way, please let us know when you get it. Don't know what you like or play, but if you bought that amp, you knew what you were getting so you'll really dig that amp.
