So in March 24 I stepped into PRS with a 2008 Tremonti SE, blew me away.

Few days later jumped on a SE CU24-08 which I’ve added a Mann bridge, locking tuners to

Few months after that…. An SE Soapbar (1)

All wonderful instruments, I’ve done my own setup and fret finish on all …. But still …. I always was aching for a true Core piece..

I’ve just pulled the trigger on a piece that has cost more than the combined total of my guitars, I’m waiting (not patiently) for this to arrive.

These tools bring me inspiration and the desire to pick up and play fuels that creative side of me, I love to write, riff and jam and look forward to posting a New (to me) Guitar Day thread in the next 7-10 days.

Have a great weekend all!

Four PRSi in ten months?

Congrats on expanding your collection! I have a couple SE’s and I’ve played some S2’s. The core line plays the best without a doubt. You’re in for a treat. I’m looking forward to seeing what you snagged for your NGD.

When I started my PRS journey, I started with a (used) core, because that was my dream guitar: an Emerald Green CU24 with birds, 10-top preferably.

Within a year I had acquired 1 more core (Spruce HB Piezo) and two SEs.

That was 11 years ago.

Um, I might have maintained that average procurement per year overall now... I honestly don't know how many PRSi I have.

But my most three or four recent guitar procurements have been non-PRS, due to the uniqueness of those instruments not offered in the PRS lineup. And the last procurement was almost 8 months ago now. I still have GAS for a bunch of PRSi, but they are on hold while I spend my disposable income on other hobbies and saving up for other "adult responsibilities" (e.g. we'll need a new car soon enough...)

Congrats!

Cores are different beasts. At one point I had 4 SE's (returned one and sent another to a brother) and realized that for the price of all 4 I could have a Core. A pair of Cores and the SE's make a great combo.
