Hi everyone!
I've bough a set HFS/VB and put them on my SE Custom 24-08.
I love both pickups, even on clean
but I have a problem with the HFS on hi-gain: it squeals when I stops the strings, even using the noise gate.
The problem disappear if I go far from the amp (on the amp side for example). The VB has no problems at all.
I'm using a Engl Screamer II bought new 10 days ago.
Tried to adjust height (even on lowest height it squeals), tried to adjust pole pieces and nothing, put foam on springs etc.
Nothing. Even on gain at 13 o'clock it squeals. Dunno what to do.. I've a lot of guitars with really hot pickups (Tone Zone, Fusion Edge, EMG, Full Shred, Invader etc.) but no one gives me this problems, even on gain on max.
The guitar is perfectly set by my trusted luthier.
What should I try? I hope that it not potted bad.
I have the HFS brand new so I can send it back to store, but I don't know if I can try something before send it back. Foam on pickup cavity?
