Hello there,

I am a new PRS guitar owner and a novice player. My PRS guitar is equipped with Gen III tremolo and my question is - is it OK to pull up the tremolo arm a little or is it supposed to be used so that you only push the arm towards the guitar body? I really don't want to break this great guitar, that's why I thought I better ask this question. :)

Thank you very much!

PRS guitars with vintage vibratos are predominately for down bendings and light vibrating, when the vibrato is floating adjusted.
The only production model with vintage vibrato for both side bending is the Tremonti model, which has a cut out under the vibrato for suitable uprouting.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!

Yes you can pull up , not a ton as set from the factory , but you can adjust it if that's a big part of your playing

Thank you very much! The way my PRS guitar was set up at the factory seems to allow me to pull up the tremolo arm a little. I will surely use it this way a little, I was just worried if it is not supposed to be used like that at all and that I may damage the guitar. This helps, thanks!!

Hi.
Yes, it’s fine. It’s a floating tremolo, which means that you can pull up or push down, give a little flutter, or try some tremolo tricks. Have fun learning to use it. Go nuts!
