Hello everyone,

I have a question to the Fiore owners 🙂 I am planning to buy a Fiore but I can unfortunately not try it first, so I will buy it online.

So my question is about the middle pickup. In my S style guitars , I always lower my middle pickup all the way flush to the pickguard as I hit it while I play.

Do you know if you can do the same with the Fiore’s middle pickup? (Same level as the body?)

Thanks in advance 🙏.

When you are either used to hit a middle pickup and lower to the same niveau like the surface of top/pickguard, several questions come into my mind immediately:

Why don't you improve the position and moving vectors of your batting hand?
Why do buy guitars with middle pickups, when they are hampering your play? The middle pickup is deliberately on this position to provide tonal variations in combination with its neighbouring pickups.
If you can't stand any middle pickup better look for a Tele layout with a SC on treble and bass position, or HB-HB (HB-SC, HB-P90, P90-SC and so on).
It's comparable to buy a convertible car but never ever open the top because the wind is annoying - but the car looks cool.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I want a Strat style Hss guitars because I use the different pickup combinations.

I am content with the way I play, I am 45 years old and do not want to change my picking technique. There are players like Yngwie who uses a Strat by lowering the middle pickup.

I do not want a tele because I want the Strat contours.

I guess my reasons are reasonable 🙂.

Also my question was about the possibility of lowering the middle pickup on the Fiore. But thanks anyways for the other recommendations. 🙂👍

Good luck, I’d be surprised if you weren’t able to lower the pickup. You may want to consider the S2 or core studio. My S2 had the middle pickup lowered for a while, but I didn’t like the sound. It got raised and I changed my picking technique. I’m 73, so we can always change our habit.

It's never too late for a change - I left my diapers prior your birth 😉, @MDen79.
@dogrocketp repeated a relevant issue, that I mentioned, too: The sound will be severely different. With the fully lowered middle pickups the guitar will has a look of a HSS only, but not all tonal class as intended by the manufacturer.
If I wouldn't adopt my playing technique, than this pickup layout appears senseless to me.

For nearly 20 years I played HH and HS, then I bought a 513 and had never ever any issue with the middle pickup in my ways.
