PRS DGT Semi Hollow Limited Edition

I think I'll wait for the inevitable production version coming down the pike in 18-24 months*... or maybe for the SE version arriving in 4 years?

* (I consulted the always-accurate magic 8 ball on my wife's desk; when asked "Will we see a production DGT semi-hollow in the next couple years?" it responded "You may rely on it")

OMG the 633 CSI was a great car!

This was mine. Picked up from the dealer’s showroom and had a Hartge installer add the trick stuff pretty much right away.

My buddy came over with his M1 for a fun afternoon driving.

I used to compete in BMWCCA track events with it. Also did concours with it, because I was maniacal enough to to keep it spotless.

But no regrets, I got a wonderful console I used for 20 years, and got nice multitrack and mastering deck machines, plus Sony U-Matic 1” video machines, all with machine synchronizers at the same time. It was a great setup.

Have both a Special Semi Hollow and a DGT I don't think this would be in my wheel house just not enough special guitar wise for me. maybe if they included a DGT 15 and a PRS Pedal :)
I'm sure it sounds great but Pass for me

Seems to be the ways things roll

It’s not all that much more than what I paid for my WL DGT solidbody.

Not unreasonably priced, given that SH guitars are priced higher throughout the various core lines that have had them.

I like the demo Grissom did with it.

Sounds like you've decided.....🙃🤨
It’s not priced out of reach.

On the other hand, I’m spending most of my time and resources on hybrid orchestral/electronic work that doesn’t involve guitars.

I even sold a couple of solid body PS’ I had on hand.

I’m not sure I want another electric guitar.

If I had a paying gig-related need, as with a recently acquired Tele, sure, provided the budget was big enough; but those kinds of buys aren’t long-termers.

Wow, congrats, that's gorgeous! And one Hell of a first post!
I'd say "welcome", but looks like you've been here longer than many of us - just waiting for the right time? :p
Thanks! So I actually was looking around here the other day to see if anyone had purchased one of these guitars yet, and I found this post and tried to register so I could watch it - turns out I had an account all along, haha.

I'm a huge fan of PRS guitars - I also run a YouTube channel and website called 'Worship Tutorials', and we work with PRS quite a bit on new releases, and I've purchased a handful of guitars from them directly.

I have a 'standard' DGT from 2015 also. LOVE that guitar, but it's a bit heavy and I have an old shoulder injury that is making heavier guitars more uncomfortable to play live, so I jumped on this semi-hollow when I saw the announcement.

Playing the semi hollow and the normal one side by side, I'm surprised at how much I can hear the difference tonally. I'd like to think the semi-hollow sounds sweeter, but there may be a bit of a honeymoon thing going on at the moment. Honestly it's just a bit 'different' - not better or worse. I'd say David's description of 'less low end and a bit more mellow top end' is what I'm hearing.
