PRS Chris Haskett Custom NINE String~!

That's cool! I love Chris Haskett's playing.

I had seen a 9 string before, with the skinny strings doubled. One of the guys in the F***ing Champs played a guitar like that. It makes more sense to double the low strings to me.

This guitars awesome, I remember when Skitchy was working on it. If you go back into the early PSF threads you can see the headstock taking shape.

I believe once the PTC 7 string came together as planned this guitar was green lighted.

Years ago I modded a guitar to be a 9-string. Still have it floating around somewhere, I thinks....

Vox had a 9-string teardrop guitar available in the '60's, called a Mark IX, with the treble strings doubled. They're rare--I've never seen one outside of a Vox catalog, and I've never seen anyone use one. It does make more sense to double the bass strings rather than the treble ones, unless you're going for the full 12-string effect. I had a Vox Phantom 12-string back in 1966-67, and my fingers still whimper remembering how it felt to try and bend on that thing!

Love Chris Haskett. I really was into Rollins Band in the early 90's, he was one of the first players that got me interested in PRS. I'm surprised his version of the 9 string hasn't been done before. Very cool idea.
