PRS CE 24 Semi Hollow Trampas Green

Hello, I am new here. I bought my PRS CE 24 Semi Hollow Trampas Green guitar a couple years ago and I love it! I am now looking at a S2 McCarty 594 Thinline in the Red color. My only question is the back of the neck. Is it a glossy sticky neck? It looks shiny in the pictures that I have seen. I would prefer a satin neck but this wouldn't be a deal breaker. Let me know what you think of this model.

It's a gloss neck with nitro. I haven't had many issues with my S2 gloss necks. I occasionally have to clean them to keep them slick. If it's a keeper, you could lightly sand it to satin.

Hit it with 1500 grit wet sandpaper enough to break the glaze and smile all summer

I use Meguiar’s cleaner/ polish on my guitar necks every time I change the strings. You can’t get much slicker, especially after 4 or 5 starter coats.

Welcome to the forum SandyC! As you have seen, plenty of helpful folk here if you need assistance. One thing that I has not been mentioned here, but mentioned many times by others, is using a scrubbee pad to break that gloss on a neck and turn it into satin. I would love it if my 3 PRSi had satin necks, but I don't have the balls to f with them ;~)) I also do not have any problems with these glossed necks in part because I clean them every day before I put them away! I do know that the satin necks on my Strat and EBMM stingray are more fun to slide on ;~))

Yes, the S2 594 necks are glossy and sticky & agree that 1500-2000 grit wet sanding is a good way to go.
