On most electrics I've been playing pure nickel strings. I like the tone of the Sono-Tone Vintage (pure nickel wrap on a hex core). They're brighter than most pure nickels and have a nice feel. They also last as long as coated strings, at least with my dry hands.
For acoustics, I like the 80/20 D'Addario Bluegrass Set, light tops, medium bottoms.
On the DGT I liked the tone and feel of the PRS Signature strings that came on it, so I've been using the PRS Signature Grissom .011 sets. At some point I'll get adventurous and try a set of the Sono-Tone .011s.
Regardless of brand, I'll stick with the factory gauge on the DGT -- because they're elevens.
"The numbers all go to eleven. Look. Right across the board."
