Over the years I’ve owned 3 PRS guitars. My ‘04 royal blue CU24, a ‘08 root beer rosewood neck McCarty, and this ‘00 Singlecut 10 top.

I got the guitar back in September, and the guy I bought it from him said he had talked to PRS about a refund for 800. I seriously doubted that price, but the guitar was solid so I bought it anyway… even though it had been gigged quite a bit and had the scars to prove it.

Fast-forward a little bit, and I threw some Rewind pickups in it that I had sitting around, some bell knobs and pointers, and a set of sanded down historic pick up rings because I didn’t like the two low pick up rings. The guitar sounded awesome and had a really great classic vibe… But the cloudy bothered me so I reached out to the company.

I asked the company if there was anything I could do for the finish, they asked me to send pictures I was the. advised it would have to be refinished, in the new nitro on nitro finish, and that would cost me in the realm of $13-$1400 after a new nut. I agreed, and sent it off. Imagine my surprise last week when I found out that they were going to eat the cost of the refin. They noted there were some good divots in the first six frets and that I could get a fret dress and level for 350…so of course I did that. They then noted my non-standard rings and offered to swap them out for 25 bucks… Which I took them up on….

They then shipped it out Friday, and it came home today. I’m out all of $450, it looks amazing, and I can’t say enough good things about the company.

I thought I would share this great experience and some pictures.
