So they stopped making the 4x12 stealth cab, and i was wondering if anyone knows of a 4x12 cab with the same or very similer specs. some places are vauge about what speakers they are using. I loved the sound the 4x12 stealth had which was Celestion Classic 30 speakers and Birch wood. @240w, i see the HDRX is 300w Rugged poplar construction?? sounds like trash wood imo, Celestion G12H-75 Creamback speakers churn out classic British-tinged tones so...Marshall cabs? looked at friedman not a fan, closest thing i could find is Mesa/Boogie 4 x 12" Rectifier Traditional, oh running an Archon 100 head. but i cant exactly go around checking all the cabs for that sound lol, was curious if someone here has already, or can offer a suggestion as to which one to try that would be close. thanks!

Friedman would be a great build, but I think they have 2 greenbacks and 2 Vintage 30's - although personally, for a 50 watt Archon, I think that'd be an awesome choice. Pretty much any reputable brand that makes a V30 loaded 4x12 would be a decent choice, unfortunately not many companies make cabinets as well as PRS did in days past.

Mesa uses 8 ohm, UK made Vintage 30's, so they're a good choice in that regard. I don't think their covering game is as good as maybe it used to be.

Yeah, when i looked at Friedman their 4x12s are 100w which i think would be fine for a Archon 100, for sure the Archon 50, though im afraid it being 100w would not put out a very good low end. but maybe thats why the are using 2 diffrent sets of speakers. lol, I wonder if a local guitar center would let me hook up the head to test it on a friendman. probably have to find one thats on the floor. but yeah right now the close match is a Mesa Cab.

For construction, the Mesas are all Baltic Birch plywood and are stoutly made. I’m pretty sure they’re still using V30s in theirs. I love Marshall 4x12s, but it’s not a “thunderous low end” cab with the speakers in mine (Greenbacks). Still, an awesome classic rock tone. I haven’t tried Friedman cabs, and I think the Friedman factory is also making the current Soldano cabs IIRC, so they’d be similar.

You could look around for a used stealth cab, but I don’t see them often… just lucked into the 2x12 I have. Mesa would be a solid choice.

In terms of physical figures the Statesman 412 by Hughes & Kettner could be an alternative to consider.
Loaded with four V30s (each 16Ω), 240W, 4 or 16Ω mono, 2x120W and 8Ω stereo. Closed back, the baffle is slanted.

Yeah, looking at that one, did they stop making the statesman? i can only find a few used ones. but that one seems pretty good. was reading a reddit post saying they were comiong out with a new one soon that should be pretty similer to the statesman.

Yeah, ive had a mesa Dual rect halfstack and it was pretty good, the sound i got from the Archon 100 on a stealth cab was just perfect. no digital effects needed, I wish i could have tried the Archon on a Mesa, And Yeah hard to find a 4x12 stealth. i saw 1 a few days ago kinda keeping my eye on.

You're right, they stopped them years ago.
I have got an old acoustic Amplification G100T tube head. The tolex is brown. I wanted a suffient - vintage sounding - cab for it in brown tolex. Even in 2012 I was too late for the show. But I bought it in black then.

Bogner makes very nice cabs, I've had a couple, though they were 2x12s, not 4x12s. Nicely made, sounded great. Mesa cabs are nicely made, still.

I have a new 4x10 Mesa cab from 2024 that's made as well, and covered as carefully, as any of their previous cabs (of which I've had many).

My PRS CAD cabs have finger-jointed construction. That's the real deal stuff. One's pine, the other is baltic birch. Other than the DG30 cab, they're not making them any more. Which kinda sucks.

I don't know a thing about PRS' recent 4x12 cab offerings.

Someone mentioned Suhr. Their stuff is US-made as well, and sounds great. There are plenty of others that are worth looking at, too. I haven't heard a Fryette cab in person, but the clips sound quite good to me.
