Hey everyone,

I figured I should do a proper introduction. I've been lurking around here for a while but time to at least say "hey."

I've been playing guitar for a few years now and fell away from it for a little while. During that time I was playing a lot of ukuleke which was fun and all but its nice to be back.

I picked up this guitar about a month ago, my dream color and top. It is a 2003 Brazilian 22 quilted 10 Top, in Blue Matteo and mixed hardware. I used to fawn over the Blue Matteo ads in the guitar magazines from high school.

And yeah it's blue not green, just trying to have a little fun with the recent forum commentary on that teal Santana.

Glad to be here and look forward to meeting you all!

I also started plugging away at Mickey Baker's Jazz course. I've been trying to be diligent with his multi hour, one lesson a week, plans so here I am noodling around after Chapter 6.

Thank you so much! I think its gloss. I took it outside to snap some pictures between rain showers so it was super humid.

Nice job, on the video, and guitar!!!
Welcome back to the guitar realm!!!
Enjoy.

Thanks good to be back!

Hi,

Nice intro. Like your guitar & like the vid as well.

I tried a Mickey Baker book in the early '70s (hot guitar?). Those chords were actually painful !

Welcome to the forum.

Totally painful. Its my first real attempt at practicing instead of just noodling all the time.

Congratulations and welcome. Sweet playing, keep at it!

Thanks!!

Ahhhh ok ok, most Custom 24's are gloss, wish they would also offer satin as well, the neck's just get way too sticky for me, I need speed for my guitar necks. I would take my SE Custom 24 back to the factory and get the neck turned to satin but I've had it so long at the factory (close to two months) that I can deal with gloss.
