Problems with my new s2?

Hey guys i could use some help. i went guitar shopping recently fell in love with the S2 SC semi hollow. played one through a orange AD30 (which is my amp at home) it sounded great but unfortunately didn't have the cash for a new one so i went on ebay and bought one. Well besides the seller lying about the condition of it and what not when i plug it in the low end is over bearing i can barely hear my mid/treble when i put the single coil tap on it slightly better but almost unplayable due to the overwhelming bassey response. I have my gain on my amp almost all the way down with my bass turned to 2 and i also have the pickup volume lowered as well and still like that. I also tried it in amplitude and still get the same result. Any ideas to a fix?

how is the pickup height?

The first thing I'd do is a full setup and restring and see how that changes anything. Besides the pickup height, look at the individual screws for each string on the pickup. If you're uncomfortable doing setups, it shouldn't cost much to have a pro do it.
