Private Stock Monday: For ALL Forum Members - Share the Love

Objectively speaking, I would say looking back that they are not worth the price (this is strictly my opinion only and exclusively on my own)

At a certain point, the idea of “value for money” isn’t really part of the equation, right?

It becomes more about the other factors you mentioned, including simply getting something that you figure you’ll enjoy and appreciate for your own unique reasons, and about the various details that float your boat.

That’s enough, and if it’s giving you enough enjoyment that you’d buy more than one, well...there’s no problem!

Scott, buddy, we like ya, and all, but lets be real.....we're gonna be circling like vultures to snag your PS. Your remains will be good for next seasons planting season :D
Scott sent me his address months ago when we first became friends. He asked me to promise that if he ever disappeared from here, I'd check the live satellite view of his house and look for fresh dirt. If I see fresh dirt, I'm to call the local law enforcement. Didn't seem like a lot to ask, in return for whatever PRS guitars he had at time of passing.

The fear is real.

The other thing that’s important to mention is that guitars can last many lifetimes, if they’re well cared for.

So they can be passed on from one generation to another, like the heirlooms which Paul and the PS team often mention.

Man, I can’t imagine pristine collection guitars being available in say, 100 years time, carrying a natural aged look on their finish. That would be like, so wow, you know!

And perhaps Paul’s signature on these PS guitars would be like Stradivari’s signature then. Because you know, it’s not really just the signature per se, but the fact that Paul personally INSPECTS every PS guitar. I think that’s the real significance of the signature, as opposed to something he signed as a memento. I think that’s a small yet not insignificant thing that differentiates PS guitars.

I’ve often compared PRS to Stradivari! Totally agree.

Of course, in 100 years what happens to the guitars won’t matter to me, because I’ll be very, very dead. And who knows whether people will even want guitars then?

“My great, great grandfather passed these...things...down to us, guys. I mean...what did he even do with them?”

“They were for making music, I think. They’re called guitars.”

“OK. Um...what’s music?”

I’ve already told the kids I won’t die but I’ll reside in the guitars. I’ll flit very annoyingly from one guitar to the next every 3 days, including the SE ZM.

So they better take good care of the guitars, else I’ll jump out and holler at them.

That's cold bro...like Chicago in January on the lake... cold...Naaa, I would do exactly the same for a forum bro...I mean HELLO! they have my favorite BIRD inlay in the muth f-in heel man! Tell Mrs. B, if she ever needs help with a backhoe and an airtight alibi I might know a guy...allegedly...o_O:D

Hmmmm? Quick question, have any of you PS fellas ever had the sketchy little turtle from the 24th fret as the heel inlay? Asking for a friend...if not, he calls dibs...

I believe you’re referring to the 24th fret owl perched on a branch.

I’ve come across this though while surfing (ahem guitar) porn. Just nuts, the artistry. That’s actually the continents of the world on its back.

Dealer name at top right.

I’m fortunate to have a one-off P22 with the Pernie neck
I remember and know the One you are referring to. It’s really a one-off in the truest sense. In fact I enquired about the guitar when it was still on sale. It was off a special one-time program where dealers would get to spec anything they want, even collection series specs like pernambuco and Celtic knots. It’s a real special one you have there buddy! Keepah forevah!

Man! Those two are killler tops and beautiful colours. I have a special affinity for the left one though:D

Just something really striking about the contrast of the aquamarine-ish top and the flamey-goodness of the natural (Fox;)) binding!

Thanks man, the Blue Green really does contrast well with the natural faux-binding. I've always been drawn by the more vibrant colors myself.

You have gravitated to the perfectly groomed section of the tiger zoo too.

Mine are a little wild. Some stripes are a little ruffled from cat fights.:p

Haha, that maybe true, but sometimes the wild looking ones have a bit more character if you will.

So, so jealous!

I keep thinking of the Rush lyric from Driven “racing the oblivious cars” - you didn’t know, but you were ‘racing’ me to the blue/green one and now the Glacier Blue one. I even put my Coll IX up for sale to get it. Grrr....uh, I mean, congratulations! :D

In all seriousness, enjoy the heck out of those! I’m fortunate to have a one-off P22 with the Pernie neck and really agree with all of your comments about the tone. Next to Pernie, I’ll take Braz all the way.

Also, can’t wait to see your new PS SC with the Buckeye Burl - going to be epic! (Grabs popcorn)

Thanks man, I'm loving these and I'm sorry for snagging them up before you. It sucks when that happens, but I suppose it's just part of shopping online. P22 with a pernie neck? Do you have any pictures, it sounds awesome!!!

Yeah, I can't wait for the Buckeye, its one of my most anticipated guitars ever. Appreciate the kind words, it should be pretty cool!

Gold celtic knots and etched gold PS eagle too, if I remember right. Paging for WA Paul to post the pic that will blow us all away...

Was that the one from Guitar Resurrection? I remember they had a cool one off Collection, but I'm not sure if it was the same guitar.
