It's actually a jointer instead of a planer. A jointer gets the wood completely flat and perpendicular while a planer thins it to a certain thickness.

It's actually a very lucky piece of wood, likely beginning it's magical journey towards becoming a piece of a PRS PS guitar. :D

But agreed, it looks like a 12 or 15" jointer to me. A planer would look like an opening into a cased piece of equipment, where a drum embedded with a series of blades on the bottom (usually) cuts off material, while rollers on the opposite side keep it moving along.

A planer does remove material also, but not as accurately as a jointer. I've jointed 2 neighboring edges of a board, and cut myself on the resulting 90 degree corner because it's so sharp.
 
Love that blue/purple dragon breath CU24-08, I'd rather not ask where it's going as this could be dangerous for the wallet...
 
A TOL inlay on what appears to be a Koa headstock? Need to see more of that guitar! :)
