Except mine is supposed to have the sides and neck toned purple to match the top and back. Does that happen after the base coat is applied?

I guess my dealer saw this thread because he emailed me to let me know that yes, the color goes onto the sides and neck before the gloss finish is applied. So I guess it's just a matter of time!
