Hey folks, long time no speak :hello: I've been trying to find out how many Private Stock Collection V 'International' version guitars were made as I'm a massive fan of the model.
The USA version had a Brazilian Rosewood neck: http://prsguitars.com/privatestock/gallery/collection5_signaturemccarty_usa.php
The International version had pernambuco instead: http://prsguitars.com/privatestock/gallery/collection5_signaturemccarty_international.php
Some internet research has tracked down a few different examples of the pernambuco version:
1. The example on PRS' website above, I don't know where it ended up for sale
2. One sold by World Guitars in the UK
3. One sold by Mikigakki in Japan
4. One sold by Ishibashi in Japan (not listed as a Collection dealer in 2012, transfer from another Japanese dealer?)
5. Two or three sold by Max Guitars in the Netherlands
6. One or two sold by The Guitar Shop in Canada
Every Collection dealer was scheduled to get one example each, but Max Guitars and The Guitar Shop got multiple examples. Whether they were other dealers allocation or extras I don't know. According to the PRS website there were 7 non-USA dealers at the time so in theory there are 7 guitars, but with the 'extra' guitars and the Ishibashi guitar it could be up to 11 or maybe even more.
Unfortunately PRS customer services don't have any record on the system of how many were built, so I'm hoping either someone in the PS department or someone with contacts there could find out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
