Private Stock Air Guitar?

The whole video is thoroughly entertaining, but the A/B comparison at the 10 minute mark is revelatory. I'm wondering what sort of custom changes would be possible for the air guitar?

This kinda fits, with what I would have guessed. That is that pickups and pickup height matter, with electronic values working as a filter. With a solid body I would expect less contribution from resonance, probably more as the body is more hollow.

In choosing guitars, neck shape and playability matter more to me than pretty much anything else. I can always swap pickups.
