I love the Sweet 16+ if you want to stay in the family. If not, I really like my Mesa TA-15 and the Mini Rec.
Have you played the goofy Fender Excelsior? It's a retro-styled 1x15 at about 12 watts. I re-tubed it with decent tubes and it's a blast. Cheap, too!

I've got one.... It's ok if you plug it into the PC and change the Shatty stock pre-sets.
Get a Laney Lionheart L5T... Sweet cleans / OD, takes pedals well and sounds great at low vols.

For the price of a pedal - $100 bucks on sale at GC - you can buy a Champ 600. I have one and they are really a cool little amp. Are there lots of "better" Champ clones? Sure, but they are closer to 1000 not 100. They 600 is so popular that there is even a cottage industury of upgrade kit to get it closer to the original. Oh and it takes pedals really well.
What ever you do get something low watt or at least has power scaling to get you low wattage. The TA-15 is a good suggestion as well - I have a TA-30 2x12 that's my number one amp at the moment. It's nice to be able to select it down to 7.5 watts at home.
Oh and I really like the Orange "tiny terror" for a small amp too. I don't own one yet but have played them a few times and they are a really nice little amp.

Do you have any 'musts'? Would you prefer tube or are you happy to go with digital modelling / solid state?
There's so many you're really spoilt for choice to be honest. I quite liked the 5 watt Blackstars and Marshalls although they both lacked on the 'clean' front. The Egnater Tweaker was very nice... I think it was 15 watts...

I came across a Four Force Em-1 amp at NAMM and I was pleasantly surprised with it. Incredible sound for a 5w, solid state amp. Very tube-like response. It is also very light (8-12 pounds). You can hook it up to an external cab for more volume if you want, but it should be enough for playing at home:
I also own a Fender G-DEC 30 for pratcie amp. I know it has been discontinued but that one is good because of the features. Built in tuner, metronome, FX, backing tracks. It's a good practice tool! I never shot a video of me playing through one, although I have even gigged with it at smaller bars!

I dig my little H&K Tubemeister 18 Combo. All of the TMs go down to 1W, sound pretty decent at that volume. I had a Blackstar HT-5 which also gave great OD at low volumes.

Glad you like the TA-30. My only complaint about the TA-15 is that I feel it lacks body when cranked. We play small bars and theaters and I don't need much power. When gigging the TA, I felt like I lost the punch. If I were doing it again, I'd go with the TA-30, since you can scale it back down, too.
I bought the first Dual Terror in the US and loved the tone, but the damn thing was NOISY! Not too long after I bought it, the TA-15 was released and I sold the Dual Terror. Also, it really bugged me that the foot switch was included. Come on!

Egnater Tweaker 15 or Rebel 20/30, IMHO. That way you also have something you can gig if you need a backup to your main amp.
What I do for low volume home practice with a baby sleeping on the other side of the wall - I take my main amp, a 50 watt USA made Egnater TOL50 which is very loud on its own, and turn on the power but not the standby. The FX send is active as is the preamp section of the amp. The FX send runs out through a portion of my pedalboard, then I run the return into the FX return on my Tweaker 15. From there I'm using both power and standby on, and turn the volume down - the only knob on the amp that does anything in this configuration is the master volume. I am able to get the volume super low while still sounding good. It's a little bit like using an attenuator. However, I had a 100 watt MASS attenuator and running through the Tweaker's power section sounds way better. The attenuator sounded really crappy set as low as I needed it to go.

What i really look for is a clean/crunch sound with a nice reverb.I have tried the Tech 21 trademark 60.It has a very nice clean/crunch sound.Anyone tried the Trademark 30?It sells for a very good price in Europe.Would be nice to have solid state at home.Less trouble

I just bought a Yamaha THR-10 today. Killer sale on Hello Music. Excited to get it, the reviews seem pretty good. For stage I run a Mesa Dual Rec, for home, a Bad Cat Cub II. At 15w switchable down to 7w, the 'Cub can still seem like a little much, especially when late night jamming calls. Having something with a headphone output and jam-along input will be nice. I'll be sure to follow up when it arrives, give some thoughts on it.

Hard to beat the Yamaha TRH10 for a practice amp, killer sounds and great digital effects built in. Sounds great at a whisper or cranking. Fills a room when you want to or can practice quiet with killer tones.
