From the new Premier Guitar magazine.
I get the hard copy, but have not finished the article yet.
I like how they also upload their magazine online to read too.

Is it not something how valves have persisted when digital keeps markedly evolving every 3-5 years or so........great article. Valves are more tangible than silicon, physically and sonically

Loved it. My favorite of the videos was Skunk Baxter playing with Steely Dan. Dude's just one of my heroes.

Welcome!
Funny, I did not hear any clips yesternight while reading and finishing the article in my magazine.
Oh wait, I gotta go to the online version to see the clips :D

I thought it was a very good article.

Thanks for posting. A good informative article. When I tell my non guitar playing friends that guitar amps have good "ole" vacuum tubes in them, they just can't believe it....

Do any of you remember going to the store with your dad to test TV tubes?

You are welcome.
Yep, I remember my dad testing tubes from old TVs, and a Hallicrafter S-129 shortwave radio I had.

Update to this older thread, as Premier Guitar uploaded a video testing out several tubes yesterday.
My faves are the 6L6, EL84, and EL34s.
I have EL84s in my Mesa Mark Five 25, and the Carvin V3M amp.
