Great stuff, works better then anything else. "Deoxit D5", fixed my crackling tone pot. The other stuff i used a standard electronic cleaner from the auto parts store did not work. It was CRC QD electronic cleaner, it did nothing at all. The Deoxit D5 made a noticeable diffence, sort of got a wd40 feel to it. Which makes me wonder if wd40 would work on noisey pots. I know it flat out gets rid of corrosion? Anyone ever try wd40? Sweetwater carry the Deoxit D5 if you want to try it. It saved me from replacing the pot. I've got a set of up graded pots for my Santana, put them in down the road. Back to making noise and working on Sampa Pa Ti, getting close to playing it to impress the girls. Lol...one is 10 the other 6.

Nope. Deoxit is a cleaner. It dissolves corrosion and oxidation. WD40 is a lubricant. Actually, Water Displacement 40. It's used to lubricate stuff and prevent water build up/oxidation. Although, it attracts dust like nobodies business.

Whenever possible, I spray directly into the pots, via the back cavity. They have an opening under the tangs where wires are attached. Use the bendable red needle, should be ok. Then turn the knobs to work it in...

I expected something like this:

Detox is great stuff , having used it for years it is a temporary fix and the issue for the most part WILL return unless you use the pot often.
Once I start using detox I will replace the pot when I have a chance or it starts getting noisy again.

Instant derail. No way this thread could be kept serious. Anyone want to add a reference to pizza or Doritos? Dorito dust certainly sticks to WD40.
