So I'm meeting someone locally to check out what is described as a 2014 SE Singlecut, with the 1 tone 1 volume and 3 way switch near the volume and tone. Were these is production in 2014? Also, the headstock logo just has Singlecut, no SE, with PRS on the truss rod cover. Owner says he bought the guitar from MF in 2014. I'm new to PRS and want to make sure what I buy is legit.

Thanks

The year it was made is the first letter in the serial number on the back of the headstock. 2014 would be an "O" .

I’ve had a bunch of these pass through my hands. Tremendous bang for the buck. I still have one with the trem. This looks like the real deal. Ask the seller if he blacked out the SE on the headstock. They have wide/fat necks, and I’ve never played a bad one. Buy it.

I'm not worried about the logo as long as it's legit. I guess its like Squier owners changing the logos.

Although am not sure, I think you can safely purchase this guitar. Would ask about the S/N and check back with us before handing over any cash, just in case.

From the photos, it looks legit to me. It does look like somebody either painted or blacked-out the "SE" on the headstock, though.

We're meeting up tomorrow during lunch, so I will have to make a decision then. I'll be sure and check over the serial number and ask about the logo though. Thanks for the help.

It's legit but it's not a 2014. He may have bought it in 21014 but it would have been NOS. Certainly worth the asking price.

Now I have an SE. It's a 2009 it turns out. And the SE was blackened, looks like with a sharpie. Any idea what would safely remove it? Pics later tonight

Ok, I heard of this a while back. It works. Go over the sharpie markings really good with a dry erase marker, then wipe off. It completely removed the sharpie ink.
