So, every time I play one of my older, alder CEs, and then pick up my 97 hog/MT, I think "damn" this thing feels like a brick.
At first I thought maybe it was because it's my only CE with a "regular" neck profile (others are WT) but it just felt heavy.
So, I got out the scale...interesting:
1991 CE24 = 7 lbs 7.6 oz
1990 CE24 MT = 7 lbs 9.8 oz
1990 CE24 MT = 7 lbs 7.7 oz
1997 CE24 MT = 8 lbs 10.2 oz
DAMN. So for reference, I weighed in my 1993 STD24, which tips the scales at 8 lbs 10.7 oz, just a bit more than the hog CE.
So, I knew that alder was lighter than mahogany, but I was surprised at the difference. Guess this is typical (or my 97 needs to drop to .09s
