For anyone looking for a deal on plug-ins and/or virtual instruments, IK Multimedia is running a pretty good deal right now. I know this is very late notice because it expires on Aug. 31, but I just found out about it yesterday. Basically, you buy one product, you get a number of free products of equal or lesser value for free. The number of bonuses is based on how many people sign up for the deal. Right now, it’s over 8,000, so 8 freebies.

I know we’ve had a few folks set up recording computers lately, so it’s a nice way to make a pretty big splash in your early setup.

Update to this - part of the deal was if they hit 10,000 buyers by Aug. 31, it would extend to Sept. 30. It hit 10,000 overnight, so now this deal is good until the end of September. Currently at 10 freebies, and almost certain to rise. There are a lot of AmpliTube expansions in the deal (so far I've grabbed the Brian May pack), and a lot of processor plug-ins.

Another update - up to 20 freebies and the deal is extended through October.

I’m starting to run out of ideas...
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have not had a chance to take advantage of it as of yet, as I was still paying off my PS, WL and Core that I purchased this year, but as of next week, I will be free of such encumbrances and will be looking to take advantage of this offer! That is, if I can resist buying that Paul's guitar I have been eyeing, or that Vela I really want, or that PS Angelus I believe I really need, or start the PS Angelus build I have been constructing in my mind! I hate this place almost as much as the golf course (on which I had a great time today, in between the cursing)!!!

I was going to make a post about this incredible group buy offer but did a forum search first and saw your post @alantig. I've been using Ampltiube and other IK Multimedia software since 2019 and find them amazing. Especially Amplitube 5 which I use to record, play through headphone or play through the return loop of my amp. This is the second group buy that they've done since 2019 and that I've taken part of. I've double dipped in this one making 2 purchases and I have got 44 freebies (22 for each of my purchases) so far which would have cost me close to €5000. If anyone is interested in high quality guitar and recording software definitely have a look. I doubt there will ever be a better deal for IK Multimedia's software.

Damn...I don't have a single thing to start recording yet, but feel compelled to jump in on this deal to get started! What should I consider grabbing??

Cool - glad to hear someone has taken advantage! I had to revise my list to add a few more things. In retrospect, I kinda wish I had picked something other than SampleTank SE - that frigging B3 plug-in keeps taunting me (and I have one I'm very happy with!).

If you're going to record in the box, I'd start with some of the Tracks stuff - lots of compressors, EQs, etc. As @Black-Viper75 said, the Ampli-Tube stuff is very cool - I'm pretty much grabbing everything they have that I don't already have. SampleTank has some great instruments available. And there are a couple drum and bass virtual instruments in there as well.

Is it difficult to reload onto a new computer when i get one?

First off you'll need a guitar audio interface to connect you guitar to your PC/Mac. I use IK Multimedia's iRig Stomp I/O. The Focusrite Scarlett is a popular choice. As for IK Multimedia software. I'd suggest getting Amplitube 5 as your purchase to get into the group buy https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube5/?pkey=amplitube-5 .

From there I'd suggest as freebies any artist or amp collection that interests you https://www.ikmultimedia.com/produc...roup-buy-amplitube&pkey=amplitube-collections

There also some nice amps and cabs that are not in the collection that you can get as freebies like the ENGL Powerball and the Jet City Amp 100H.

The new X-Gear virtual pedals are great freebie options. Especially the Space and Time ones. Some info on them here https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=11392

Then for mixing mastering T-RackS 5 mixing and mastering workstation with 9 processors https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr5/?pkey=tr5 , The Mixbox virtual channel strip / multiFX with 70 award-winning effects https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mixbox/?pkey=mixbox https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mixbox/?pkey=mixbox . The Comprexxor, Stealth Limiter, Space Delay, Master Match are processors for T-RackS that you may consider adding to the T-RackS 5 workstation.

Also check out MODO Drum https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mododrum/?pkey=modo-drum

And MODO Bass https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/modobass/?pkey=modo-bass

I’ll add a +1 for the Focusrite Scarlett stuff. I have a rack into (18 inputs) because I wanted to have my keyboard and a couple modules always plugged in. They do have smaller units (like 2 in/out) if you don’t want that many.

Thanks for the tips guys...guess I just needed a little push to get the gear and get started with all this:)

I may know in a few weeks - I need to update to a new box. It doesn't look like it, though. It looks like, at worst, it's just a reinstall. They give you 10 authorizations, so I think you could have both machines running at the same time.

You just have to re-install everything. You can transfer your presets by backing them up to any external storage device and putting them in the preset folder of your new PC/Mac.

Yes, I've heard really good things about the Focusrite Scarlett but have never used one. I use the iRig Stomp I/0 because I won it in a raffle at Gus G's guitar camp in 2019. It included a free code for Amplitube 4 Deluxe. That's what got me into IK's software and I was blown away. It was the first time I ever tried out guitar sim software.

I've been using IKM's Amplitude for many years and Amplitube 5 MAX is absolutely awesome :D

The Orange and MESA/Boogie Amps really do the trick!

My first interface was an MBox Pro II (not sure that's the exact model name). I wanted to upgrade for a few years, and when I took the plunge on the Output desc w/the rack spaces, it made sense to do it then. Turned out I could connect the MBox as well, so I actually have both running, not that I ever need all those inputs, but I think a couple auxiliary outputs are still running through the MBox because all the inputs aren't 1/4". Not sure what's going to happen when I update my iMac, other than I'll actually be able to run some more up-to-date versions!

Oh, and this deal is up to 23 freebies now, with 19 days to get just over 1,500 more buy-ins to max it out at 24.
