Used guitars are highly subjective things. You might find someone who loves something in particular about your guitar and be willing to pay more than anyone else. If you want top-dollar, you may have to sit on it for a long time until that particular buyer finds your listing. If you want it to move sooner, you price it where someone will be tempted to buy something that maybe they weren’t specifically looking for.
I mention Guitar Center because they’ve got the largest inventory of used guitars and generally price things competitively. One of the advantages they offer is 45-day returns, which is hard to compete with as a private seller.
