I was at band practice tonight and a great cover band name occurred to me:
“The Bushy Kates”
“The Bushy Kates”
So you’re not allowed to talk about the band playing at a political event?
Three strikes, you're out!My third account over there just got a week long ban today
This forum is much cooler anyway. The Gear Forum is pretty neat too if your still lookin to talk non-PRS stuff
They should tell you why you were banned so you might be able to correct your behavior, but I know from experience they don't. Third ban for seemingly no reason was the charm for me. Never went back.
That's completely understandable but they should tell you the rule you broke and provided the post that broke it. Otherwise, you're just left to wonder and are oblivious as to how toplay nicecorrect your behavior.
AFAIK, I never broke the rules because by the third time especially, I was ***** footing like a maffuker.
TGP? Sounds fun. What is it?
Oh, and...TED NUGENT!!!!
I once got banned over at TGP for a spelling error. It was a thread about favorite candy bars. I said that I really like Snickers bars because of the “Nougat” and spell check inserted “Nugent” instead. A few minutes later… Ban!!!TGP is a joke man, c'mon. Your sexist remark about high school girls would be enough for the ban hammer at that dump, ok Ted Nugent?

Why the "big F" would you hang out there? Are there not enough knuckleheads where you live?As a member of TGP since it started (over 20 years ago), I'll throw out this tidbit:
Stay out of "The Pub." THAT'S where 99% of the trouble lives. I've served more than one "un-paid vacation," as well as having received a few warnings. They were all related to threads in that section.
I cannot detemine if this response is sincere or in jest. Mine however was in jestGtrbldr - I don't think I've heard that take on TGP before - "why would you hang out there?" It's so NOT what is found in the rest of the on-line world. It's not like social media. TGP makes it a point to not go down the keyboard warrior world that Facebook or X can become. The rules, which all members agree to adhere to, are designed to keep the site as a friendly page.
Also, just for fun, the moderation is essentially self-patrolled. The mods on TGP do not seek out issues - they're reported by the users.
I got dinged once (points off or whatever their scoring system is) for a similar thing. Guy asking where he could find a deal on a used pedal that I had listed in the emporium. I mentioned my listing and got dinged. One other time, I got one for a "buddy bump" of a friends sale ad.In the middle of a thread about a guitar model, someone posted a question asking if anyone had one for sale. I posted that I had one listed in their emporium. I received a two week ban for breaking the rules.
Now you see a lot of “I saw one in the emporium “ or “I may know where you can find one” which seems silly to me.
I wasn't. I asked why it wasn't OK to discuss a band that played there. That is not a political discussion unless I make political references to why the band is playing there. If I'm just talking about the band/music, that is not political at all.Debating whether or not TGP should allow political discussion is it’s own conversation
Well prior to now, nobody had said any of this, just that he started a thread about a band at the RNC. If he actually was promoting a right wing news site in the thread, then perhaps that would explain why he got pounced on here.people acting coy and clueless as to how talking about the RNC and promoting an explicitly right wing news site might be seen as political (to put it lightly) is just silly and disingenuous imo. And yes, same goes if a thread were to be started about a band performing at the DNC
I really don't appreciate the accusation that I was somehow covertly promoting something political. Please show me where I promoted RSBN. And even if I did mention it (which I don't think I did), why is the mere mention of it "political"? Because of their audience? That is completely absurd and akin to racism if you ask me. Are we now vilifying a group of people based on what TV station they watch? Holy crap is this insane.
