I recently picked up a desert rose core silver sky with maple board. I have been waiting for a used one to pop up locally for a few years and it finally happened. Got a great deal and finally got a use for my matching paisley pickguard! My pup jazz had to get in the shot too!

For anyone wondering, the bridge pickup in the SE dragon fruit is an HFS which seems to match perfectly with the other pickups when split. The output puts it almost identical to the SE SS pickups when split and how can you complain about that humbucker for hard rock when you need it!

Thanks gents it really does go quite well together. Side note, my other core silver sky in horizon red feels and sounds so much different than this desert rose from 2021. This one is not as bright and less “in your face” with a more resonant tone I feel. The neck carve is probably the most comfortable natural feeling thing I’ve ever played.

The SE SS has a radical setup with 2 volume, one for middle/neck and one for bridge, and no tone control. I have treble bleeds on both with a 100pf cap and it really helps clean up the pickups with dirt/fuzz. It helps me with eliminating a lot of the tap dancing with pedals as I sing and play quite a bit. The silver sky is so Damn amazing and versatile I almost never play my customs anymore and my McRosie is becoming wall art.
