So yesterday I ran into this weird issue. I changed an Duncan SH-5 for a Duncan Pegasus in my PRS CE-24 and the mounting plate, where the screws from the PU rings get screwed in, is too wide. Too wide in my sense of engineering and tolerances. With some tilting and scraping inside the cavity it’s doable. I noticed this after I modified the wires on the pickup, so sending it back might be off the charts. I just didn’t have in mind that this could happen by replacing a Duncan PU with a Duncan PU. I measured the bobbin width already and it’s the normal humbucker, not trembucker size. Height adjustment isn’t smooth, it’s scraping inside the cavity, but I‘m fine with that. So my question is: are there some negative side effects to be expected from the snug fit or am I bueno? I‘m for sure won’t hack up the guitar to make it fit and rather don’t want to file off the base plate of the pickup.

That is odd, although i have seen mounting feet be too square, if that makes sense, and i have had to round of the corners on the feet with a file to make it fit comfortably.
