Hello!

I'm trying to swap pickups in SE Orianthi, but I don't need the coil split and the tone pot. So I removed the unnecessary tone pot and installed the SD pickups. However, I wasn't able to find the scheme for the 3 way blade switch on the web-site. Does anyone have the scheme or can just explain, how to connect the switch to 2 SD pickups and 1 volume pot.

Thanks in advance!

I think if you follow this http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/schematics/2012/mira_2012.pdf and ignore the mini switch and tone pot it should work. If you aren't tapping the Duncans green and bare to ground, red and white joined and taped off, black to switch. Are you leaving the tone pot in the guitar unused or filling in the hole?
Thank you, Richard!
I've checked that scheme, I doubt it'll be useful in my case, I'll upload photos of controls cavity this evening. I guess SE's have another kind of switch or I'm just not good at all at understanding schemes
As for the tone control - I wanted to install the killswitch instead. But right now the first priority is just to make the basic wiring.

I've found something interesting:

I guess the switch named 3way Economy Lever Switch terminal is exactly like mine.

maxtuna26, thanks
But the switch in my guitar has 8 connectors in a row, not 4-4 on sides...

RichardJ, thank you!
As for the tone pot - I wanted to add a killswitch instead. The scheme has a 4-4 on sides switch, and mine has 8 in a row...

That switch is your fairly standard box type switch found on most import guitars. Nothing too much wrong with them but if you can replace it with a traditional 3-way Tele type switch it will be better quality and more reliable. If you are going to the effort of a kill switch I really would fit a new 3-way with it.

I have a diagram that unhelpfully I cannot upload because it is in a Word document. However on your switch if you link together, from left to right, lugs 2 and 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7. Connect 4 and 5 to the volume pot, 2 and 3 to the neck pickup hot and 6 and 7 to the bridge pickup hot it should work. Worst case is the pickups are on the wrong lugs and you will have to swap them over. Let me know if it works OK!

That's exactly what I needed, RichardJ :adore:
Gotta install them RIGHT NOW!

not sure if this will be helpful to you...but this is how the box switch looks like compared to the 4-4 switch

hope it won't be confusing!

the red and blue boxes are to be connected from the volume pot. the last light blue one will be for the neck pickup hot wire, the first indigo one will be for the bridge. well... once you've connected everything, just test it out and see which way will be the "right" pickup selection order, like if the top position is the neck pickup, it'll be correct, otherwise, just flip the wires, or flip the whole switch around if you've turned off the soldering iron. DIY stuff are all about experimenting

maxtuna26, thanks for the picture! Only light blue is for the bridge and indigo for the neck.
I've wired everything yesterday night and wasn't able to listen to the new sound at proper volume level. Hope, it'll be a pleasant surprise this evening :top:

ahh, yes it is  sorry for the mistake! Enjoy your new pickups then
