Hi all! I have a 2008 All gold Standard 24. it came loaded with the HFS and Vintage Bass pickups. A couple years ago I swapped these out for the squabbin \m/ Metal pickups in the neck and bridge. Lately I haven't been digging the clarity in these pickups and was thinking about swapping them out for a set of Seymour Duncan JBs. Before I do this, do you have any other recommendations for PRS-branded pups? My favorite PRS pickup is the 85/15, but I've tried a pair in goldie and they just don't work - I'm thinking because it's all-mahogany. It seems to need a very bright sounding pickup.

I like to play mostly hard rock / metal - all these things being said, I seem to be more attracted towards alnico pickups with the 85/15s and less into ceramics. Help!

I'd go 85/15s, but that's just a personal preference. They're great in my CU24 30th PS.

PRS 59/09
BKP Aftermath
SD Alpha/Omega
SD Black Winter
BKP Black Dog
BKP Polymath

All of these work well with your guitar wood and its natural dynamics and also the characteristics you describe regarding your guitar and your expressed wants.

Thanks for your suggestions! Is the Tremonti bridge pup darker than the bridge \m/'s? I have heard conflicting opinions of the Tremonti lacking note definition and being dark AF.

I have a hog ce22 that I put 5310s in and those pickups sound really good in that guitar.
