PICKUP PROBLEM. HELLLLLLLLP!

has anyone who has 57/08 pups ever measured (k value) them. I've read on forums that 57/08 are roughly- 7.91k for treble pups, and 7.78k for bass pups. I have 3- 57/08 squabbins. my guitar repairman today measured all 3, and they were= 8.9k treble

WHAT! and then I had him measure a set of p22 pups that I got in a trade, that the guy wasn't sure if they were 53/10's or 57/08's. (it's a long story, don't ask) well I've read that 53/10's measured out to- 8.98k for treble, and 8.42k for bass. when he measured those, they came out to=
8.8k treble
8.3k bass which made me think they were 53/10's, but now with the 57/08 readings, i'm back to square one again not know what the p22's are. anyone have any insight?

Helmi - I have squabbin 57/08s in my 2013 CU24 that measure 7.90 & 8.72. I have covered 53/10s in my CU22 SH (from a MEQ) that measure 7.82 & 8.49. Not sure you're going to get the whole story from just the readings unfortunately.

Andy - I am pretty sure that the P22s are just labeled as P22 Bass and P22 Treble, 2013 when the model was introduced they were uncovered 53/10s, and then they switched to 57/08s at some point, 2014 I think.

Hope some of that info helps.

BTW just for S&G I measured 58/15s and 85/15s. Very very close. 7.78 / 8.58 (58/15s) & 7.84 / 8.66 (85/15s)

Most pickups and pots have something like a 10-20% variance on the "rated" parameter.

I think the newer 5708 run a little on the hotter side too. I don't think in the 8's is that unusual.
